Hisense Roku TV Stuck On Set Up Language? Here’s Quick Fix!!

Is Hisense Roku TV Stuck on Setup Language Screen and the Remote isn’t working? Don’t worry, it’s just a glitch that I’ve encountered and fixed.

It got really annoying after I restarted and replugged the TV but the issue was still present. The Set-Up Language Screen got stuck and wasn’t moving, plus the remote wasn’t working on it either.

When the Hisense Roku TV gets stuck on the Set-Up Language Screen and the remote will not work on it, it happens only due to two reasons, either the remote has become faulty and has some key stuck on it, or the internal settings have become corrupt.

You might already be annoyed, but you might wonder how to fix it and when it won’t move past the Language Screen.

Whenever you are having trouble getting your Roku TV to progress past the Language Screen and into Set Up, you need to manually hard reset the TV, which requires a pin inserted into the pinhole at the back of the TV’s pinhole for 30 seconds.

This guide will explain how you can easily fix this at home and I will demonstrate the steps below. Please follow the steps and you will be fine.

What to do when Hisense Roku Stuck on Set Up Language Screen and Won’t move forward?

Unlike other Roku TV problems from Hisense, this one is quite easy to solve, but there are the same reasons behind it, namely, internal settings conflict, faulty remote, and corrupted firmware update.

Without further ado, let’s move on to solving the Hisense Roku TV Language Set Up Issue.

In order to get this sorted the first time, you need to follow three steps in the same order.

1. Power Cycle
2. Hard Reset
3. Examine Remote & Replace Batteries
4. Bonus Troubleshooting

Power Cycle

To determine whether the issue is merely a temporary glitch, the first and foremost thing to do is turn the TV off and on after removing it from the main outlet.

Afterward, you will be able to pass the Language Selection screen on your Hisense Roku TV since the temporary settings will be reset.

1. To begin with, don’t turn off the TV and unplug it directly from the power outlet.
2. Then wait for 3 to 5 minutes.
3. Now turn on the TV by plugging it back into the power socket.

Before proceeding further, wait a few minutes and check to see if it is still stuck at the Language Set Up Screen and not moving on, or if it has been resolved. Remember that a power cycle will only solve a minor glitch, if it does not sort, proceed with the next steps.

Hard Reset

If the Power cycle fails to resolve the issue, the device must be Hard Reset to factory default settings so that any conflicted or corrupted internal settings are refreshed and cleared.

You’ll need to follow the following steps one by one in order to manually hard reset your device and restore its factory default settings.

1. Turn it On, If it is already on, proceed to the next step.
2. Now, At the top of the board, near the inputs, there is a reset pinhole, locate it.
3. Use a pen or something that has a pointy tip to press inside for more than 30 seconds.
4. This will reset the tv to its factory settings.

You will now notice that the TV is working normally and your Hisense Roku TV won’t be stuck on the Language Setup screen any longer.

In nearly every case, this can be resolved using only these two steps, but there are times when we might not notice minor things that could cause it to occur, so I am adding this last step.

Check Remote

So you have tried unplugging the cables, resetting the TV, and all that stuff, but only after you get tired, and can’t pass the Language Screen and it just stays there, and have tried pressing all the codes on your remote, but nothing works.

You should remember that this will only work if there are any internal settings issues like if the remote is not working properly, has a key pressed already, and is not allowing it to move further, or if the batteries are just out of juice.

Sometimes, The Remote is not properly connected which can cause this issue, And the remote also has a small reconnect button under the battery cover. Press that for 5 seconds until the light starts blinking, and the remote will connect to the TV.

That’s why I would recommend checking each key on your remote and making sure it’s working properly, and then replacing the batteries with new ones.

Here are further updates on this post and I am adding a few bonus troubleshooting methods which I have found working and tried since I first wrote this post.

Unplug and Replug Inputs

1. Unplug all the inputs that you have connected to your TV.
2. Give it a restart and see if it turns on like normal.
3. If it does, then it’s likely one of your inputs was causing the issue.
4. To figure out which one, plug in your inputs one by one, restarting the TV each time you add a new one.

This way, you’ll be able to pinpoint the problem input which is also among the top causes for this issue and might get back to your streaming in no time.

SD Card Glitching

Moreover, often people use SD cards on Roku which also leads to this issue let me quickly explain this to you.

Here’s the deal, when the SD card is corrupted or non-functional, it can cause your Roku to get stuck at the splash screen.

1. Firstly, unplug your Roku from the TV and power source.
2. Then, take out the SD card that’s causing the problem.
3. Now, plug your Roku back in and turn it on.
4. If everything is working fine, great! But if not, don’t worry, I’ve got a few more steps.
5. Turn off your Roku and reinsert the SD card, making sure it’s in the correct position.
6. Turn the Roku back on, and see if it starts up properly.

Moreover, If it doesn’t, try using a different SD card.

One important thing to keep in mind is that when you reinsert the SD card, the Roku will detect it as new and format it, wiping all its data.

So, before you do that, make sure to back up the contents of the SD card.
