Are your Insignia Fire TV apps not working properly or they won’t load? Do you wish to learn why they aren’t working and how to resolve the issue?
Even though mainly Hulu, Disney Plus, Starz, HBO Max, and other popular streaming apps are affected by the issue, it affects many other apps on your Insignia Fire TV as well and won’t load them properly.
There are a few tweaks you can make to speed up and load applications faster on your Insignia Fire TV Edition.
Most of the time, it is due to internal settings or a network conflict, both of which can be easily fixed, and I will explain how to do so.
When your Insignia Fire TV apps won’t load, this may be due to a conflict between your network and other software. To resolve this, clear the cache for the Apps and restart your WiFi router.
Despite this, the issue can still arise because there can be other underlying issues. In the following guide, I explain step by step how to optimize your apps so that they work seamlessly on your Insignia Fire TV.
Why Apps Are Not Working On Insignia FireTV?
In general, you will encounter such issues when streaming and using apps and sometimes they won’t open.
No streaming devices or TVs are prone to such issues, and usually, the culprit is the Internet and Cache data.
Being a binge lover as well as a modern TV enthusiast, I always look for ways and workarounds to solve issues that arise.
A bad IP assigned to a router can sometimes cause buffering issues, meaning that you keep switching between titles and they work for a while, but then stop again.
Also a slow internet, TVs internal settings conflict, and Apps stored data can cause the Apps to crash and not load, and even if they are loaded they won’t work and you will have to keep closing and opening them.
How To Fix Apps Not Working Issue On Insignia Fire TV Edition?
Although the Insignia Fire TV edition runs exclusively on the Fire TV operating system, any issues encountered by normal Fire TV users might affect Insignia TV users as well, But the TV’s internal performance and storage play an important role in the apps’ functionality.
Insignia Fire TV users can fix all of their app-related issues by making a few tweaks for better performance.
The below guide describes how to do this one by one as I’ve arranged and listed them accordingly.
- Power Cycle TV
- Optimize & Power Cycle Router Wifi
- Clear App Cache and Stored Data
- Restore Settings To Factory Default
Power Cycle TV
The first thing you should do if you are having issues with apps on your Insignia TV is to let it cool down.
Due to the fact that the TV keeps downloading App data as well as its internal software data, sometimes the settings are inconsistent, leading to unresponsive apps and not launching.
By doing a power cycle, you will be able to remove temporary changes, half-synched data, and other settings conflicts.
To perform a power cycle, you have to remove the power cable of your TV and plug it back in after waiting for 4-5 minutes, not like a simple restart like replugging your TV.
Optimize & Power Cycle Router Wifi
Insignia Fire TV can sometimes experience buffering and loading issues due to a bad IP address because all of the popular streaming apps use a proper firewall, and routers do have dynamic IP addresses that change frequently.
The power cycle of your router will assign a new IP address to your router and will fix any errors or problems with apps on your Insignia Fire TV.
You need to unplug the router’s power cable and replug it after waiting for 4-5 minutes. Just do not restart it immediately after removing the power cable.
For better wifi coverage, be sure to place your wireless router at an ideal height and keep it away from electrical devices.
Power cycling the TV and router should almost solve the issue, and you can check and open the apps again to see if they are working.
Be sure to check multiple apps and stream a couple of titles as well.
Clear App Cache And Stored Data
It is possible to see that your other apps are working fine but you are having issues with specific apps or a few.
If an app like HBO Max, Starz, Hulu, Disney Plus, Hotstart, etc won’t load, keeps buffering, crashes, or restarts constantly on your Insignia FireTV, then you should clear the App cache data.
You can easily do that by following the below steps:
- Navigate to the Settings menu on your Insignia Fire TV.
- Select Applications.
- Go to Manage Installed Applications and select the App Store.
- Clear the data by selecting Force Stop and Clear Data.
- Restart your device by going to Settings > My Fire TV > Restart
- Afterwards, try downloading and opening the apps.
Restore Settings To Factory Default
Finally, one of the things that all support people tell you to do whenever you encounter any kind of issue with your device is to reset it to factory settings.
While it is mostly true, I am not entirely convinced since it involves downloading all apps one by one, organizing them, and signing into them one by one. As it deletes all of the apps and stored data.
So I would advise you if the apps are not working properly on your Insignia FireTV, or they keep crashing, restarting, or buffering.
First make sure you follow all the above steps one by one as that should resolve most issues and lastly, do a hard reset if the issue persists.
- Hold Down the Back button and the right side of the navigation circle for 10 seconds.
- Next, on the TV screen, choose whether to continue or cancel the factory reset.
- The TV will automatically reset after several more seconds if you don’t select it.
Wrapping It Up
Make sure you follow the procedures exactly as it was written as that will help you to solve any app-related issues such as apps not loading, not working, or crashing on your Insignia Fire TV quickly.
