Mirroring is possible on Insignia Fire TV using either the official inbuilt mirroring option or by using third-party apps.
Below, I have outlined both of them so you can mirror your devices more easily.
Insignia Fire TV Screen Mirror (Inbuilt method)
The Insignia Fire TV Edition supports screen mirroring. To mirror a screen, press and hold the home button, select Mirroring, then connect your compatible device.
Screen Mirroring from any device using the Insignia Fire TV Guest Display Mirroring:
For Guest Display Mirroring to work, you’ll need to have at least 4.2 (Jelly Bean) on your mobile device
- On your Fire TV, Navigate to Settings then Display and Sounds and enable Display Mirroring.
- Enable the Mirroring option on your Mobile device (If you are uncertain how to enable display mirroring on your mobile device, refer to the user guide for your device.)
- You can stop Guest Display Mirroring by pressing any button on your remote or Fire TV app.
For mirroring to work effectively, the device must be within 30 feet of your Fire TV device.
Also, A few Miracast-compatible devices aren’t optimized for Fire TV (Insignia), and overall performance may vary.
Note: Using the above steps requires your Insignia Fire TV to support screen mirroring.
How to check if your Insignia Fire TV has the screen mirroring feature and is compatible?
Insignia Fire TVs may or may not have screen mirroring capability, so you need to check to see if your device is compatible. To do this, simply hold down the Home button on the remote. If you see the Mirroring icon, it is compatible.
Which devices don’t support screen mirroring with Insignia Fire TV?
Below are the devices that are not compatible with screen mirroring:
- Those Android devices that don’t support Miracast
- Wireless Display (WiDi)-incompatible Windows devices
- Android devices that run an older version of Android OS (Jelly Bean)

Using the above steps, you can easily mirror if everything goes well and your TV and devices are both compatible.
What if your Insignia Fire TV does not have the mirroring option?
Don’t worry if that happens, you can still screen mirror on your Insignia Fire TV using third-party apps.
Insignia Fire TV Mirroring Using Third-Party Apps
In the case of the Fire TV not showing up as a castable option during the casting process or mirroring, you’re going to need to use third-party apps.
The Insignia Fire TV can screen mirror with other devices using a variety of free and paid apps, and below I have listed some of the most popular ones.
Free Apps for Insignia Fire TV screen mirroring:
By using InShot’s Cast to TV apps, you can cast from two different devices at the same time. Both apps are free.
I sometimes use All Screen and AllCast. Both All Screen and AllCast give me a variety of connectivity options and are free of cost, so I sometimes use them for casting streaming websites.
Additionally, I had licensed the app Bubble UPnP earlier, which was also quite useful and gave the option of screen mirroring on multiple devices.
Those are the different ways you can do screen mirroring on your Insignia Fire TV Edition.
