With the Fire TV edition of Insignia TVs, you have access to multiple audio settings such as PCM, Dolby, Lip Sync Tuning, Surround Sound, etc, and apart from the temporary glitch with installed apps, these settings are essential for maintaining video and audio synchronization.

Here are all the possible causes that can lead to your Insignia Fire TV’s sound and picture being out of sync:

  • Incorrect Audio Output Settings .
  • Temporary Glitch with TV and Installed App.
  • Incorrect Soundbar, Home theater, or any Audio Receiver configuration.

Although I looked into other possible reasons when troubleshooting this issue with my Insignia TV, I found none that are not listed above.

With a clear understanding of the reasons behind this issue, let’s get started with troubleshooting in order to resolve it in a timely manner.

How To Fix Insignia Fire TV Out of Sync Sound Issue?

The first critical thing whenever we attempt to troubleshoot any issue is that we should not rush to identify and perform steps as often this will lead to repeating steps without any luck.

The steps have been outlined in such an order that you should be able to resolve the issue on your first attempt, so on your end, simply follow the steps carefully one by one.

Here’s what you should do when the audio on your Insignia Fire TV is out of sync:

  • Verify if it occurs on a particular TV show or app.
  • Power Cycle your TV.
  • Tweak Audio Settings.
  • Install any available updates.

Locate the Issue

First see whether the problem is with any particular app or tv show, or whether the sound is out of sync across the TV before tweaking audio settings or resetting the TV.

Try switching between Netflix, Prime Video, Disney Plus, Hulu, etc, and then play different videos both old and new to see if the audio is not matching the picture across all of them.

When you experience such issues with certain videos or applications, you do not need to reset your TV. It can be resolved by deleting the app cache and adjusting a couple of audio settings.

Here is how you can delete the cache and the stored data of the Insignia Fire TV edition apps:

  1. Go to the “settings” on your TV.
  2. Navigate to “Manage All Applications”.
  3. From the list, select the app whose audio is out of sync.
  4. Delete the cache and force stop the application.

After this has been done, launch the application again and check if the sound and picture are synced.

If this doesn’t work or the problem occurs on multiple apps, proceed to the next troubleshooting step.

Power Cycle your TV

Often on the Fire TV editions, such as Insignia, in this case, settings get glitched because of half-downloaded apps, power failures, or other reasons that cause the audio and picture to go out of sync.

In that case, performing a proper power cycle will clear temporary data and fix it.

Here’s what you can try to rule out the possibility and see if the issue is resolved:

  1. Turn off your Insignia Fire TV from its remote.
  2. Remove the power cable and press the power button on TV for about 2- seconds.
  3. After 2-3 minutes, plug the cable again and turn on the TV.
  4. Check if audio and video are perfectly synching.

There is a possibility that you may not have recently configured the settings correctly or there may be some audio glitch requiring the Audio settings to be configured.

Tweak Audio Settings

After reading a ton of information and trying different things, I found that tweaking the audio setting fixed the issue.
